Privacy Policy

Zelefin is a native Jellyfin, Silo, and Emby client for iPhone, iPad, and Android. It talks to the media server you type in. There is no Zelefin account and no Zelefin Plus. The apps contain no analytics or tracking. This website does use analytics, described below.

What stays on your devices

Sign-in details, library cache, downloads, and settings live on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Playback goes to your Jellyfin, Silo, or Emby server. If you sign in with a Silo account, that sign-in and your profile choice go only to your Silo server. We do not operate that server, and we do not receive your library files or media-server password.

Notifications

If you install the Zelefin plugin on Jellyfin and allow alerts, the app registers a push token with that plugin. iPhone and iPad use Apple Push Notification service. Android uses Firebase Cloud Messaging. The plugin sends alerts through Zelefin’s push service so they can arrive while the app is closed, including dashboard Display Messages. That service holds push credentials for the Zelefin apps. It receives device tokens and notification text from your plugin. It does not receive your Jellyfin password or library files. Emby and Silo have no Zelefin plugin. When you turn on notifications for them, the app adds a webhook on that server that points to Zelefin’s push service at a random, unguessable address, and the push service passes each alert to this device. Signing out, removing the account, or switching Silo profiles removes the webhook and that address.

Skip times

To show Skip Recap, Intro, Credits, and Preview buttons, the app first asks your own server. When the server has no skip times for a title, the app can ask TheIntroDB, a community database of skip times. That request contains the title’s public catalog ids (TVDB, TMDB, or IMDb), the season and episode number, and the running time. Like any web request it also reveals your IP address to TheIntroDB. It contains nothing about your server, your account, or your library. You can turn this off in Settings under Plugins.

Optional connections

If you sign in to Seerr, Sonarr, Radarr, or Open Subtitles from Settings, those credentials stay on this device and are sent only to the address you enter.

Website analytics

zelefin.app uses Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves, to count visits and see which pages people read. No third-party analytics company receives this data. When you load a page, Matomo records:

• the page you viewed, the page that sent you here, and links you click to leave the site or download a file;
• your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, and language;
• your IP address, which is used to estimate your country and city;
• the time and length of your visit.

Matomo sets first-party cookies on zelefin.app so it can tell a new visit from a returning one. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, Matomo does not record your visit. You can also block cookies or scripts for this site in your browser. The analytics cover this website only, never the Zelefin apps.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share website analytics with advertisers or other companies.
• We do not use your library for advertising.
• We do not require a cloud login to use Zelefin with your own server.
